I learned how to heal my body and mind when I became unwell. I am illness-free, healthy, fit, and vibrant.
My Story...
I was introduced to natural foods, herbs and living a healthy lifestyle at an early age. I grew up on a farm in Canada. My European parents grew up growing their own foods, raising their own livestock and following a healthful dietary lifestyle. They raised us and taught us on these same principles. They used traditional, medication-free resources to help us during illness and focused on our own bodies to heal themselves. Along with fresh air, nature and exercise, we lived a very healthy life.
My healing journey began when I was a teenager back in high school. At that time, I was introduced to a different lifestyle of fast food, soft drinks and fast living. I started to suffer from lethargy, digestive problems and lack of sleep. I went to see my doctor for assessment but he said there was nothing wrong. When I had a cold or flu, I rejected the childhood concoctions my mother once did, and instead took antibiotics. When I had a head-ache, rather than an herbal tea, I reached for aspirin. I wasn't feeling well anymore.
As a teenager we don't listen to our parents, so my mother insisted I see a practitioner who specialized in nutrition and natural remedies. With some reluctance, I did. That meeting opening my eyes to a whole new world of healing; one that was based on wisdom of nature and nutrition. In 3 days, I had never felt so good. To this day (almost 40 years later), I never forget that experience nor the products I used (Nature's Sunshine). That company is still around (50 years in business) and is the source of my natural product line today.
I prospered and lived well until my 40's when the stress of work and life affected my health again. I went back to the doctor who referred me to a specialist and I was diagnosed with Palindromic Arthritis. A debilitating and painful attack on my joints that required me to take time off work and fret over what was happening. The only solution was a lifelong journey of heavy medications and pain. I vowed to find a solution, so I found a natural health practitioner (who was also an Iridologist) and sold the same product line I had used in my teenage years. Nature's Sunshine! I knew I could turn this around...and I did. My extensive drive to never give up brought me to where I am today.
There were many successes and trials along the way and I discovered that there is no single remedy or therapy that works for everyone; but there is an optional healing path that is safe and evolutionary for those that seek it.
Today, I live a healthy, active and pain-free life due to the changes I made in my lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation. I've seen and experienced what illness can do to mind, body and spirit. I committed that one day I would give back to others for the wonderful experience of healing I had in my life.
So here I am...
I retired from a successful corporate career and went back to school to become a Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner (RNCP). I am an independent Senior Consultant with Nature's Sunshine. I am Certified in Applied Iridology.
We all need positive role models when it comes to our health. That is why my real credentials come from successfully overcoming health issues, helping others to better health, staying committed to living a healthy lifestyle and being mentally, emotionally and physically well.
In addition to being a Registered Nutritional Consultant Practitioner, over the last 20 years I have pursued professional training in many modalities, resulting in a broad knowledge base and a lifetime of experience that I infuse into my daily work. When I am working with clients, I bring a professional yet personable tone to my consultations with a focus on empowerment and helping build effective and self-care skills.
What Modalities Have I Been Professionally Trained?
In my personal life, I am an avid gardener, growing my own produce during the warm seasons, preparing my own meals and staying mentally and physically active. And yes, I still live on a farm!
